Fragment from the left end of a white marble sarcophagus lid (not measured).

Inscribed on the edge (0.35 × 0.14); broken above and chipped on inscribed surfaces; probably at least one line lost.

Second century A.D. (lettering).

Edition εἰς ἣν σορὸν κηδευθήσεταιαὐτὴ Τατίανη ἢ ἐκθάψαι ἀπὸ αὐτης
Translation

in which sarcophagus Tatiane herself shall be buried but no one else shall have the right to bury anyone in it or to remove any body from it .

Commentary

Tatiane is a reasonably common woman's name at Aphrodisias. This is part of a standard funerary formula.
