Description of Monument

A rectangular white marble statue base shaft, broken in two (total 1.27 × 0.50 × 0.40), with panels within moulded edges on three sides.

Late fifth/sixth century (language).

Edition Πατρὶς Ἰωάννην πρωτόθρο νον ἀνέρα βουλῆς στῆσεν δεξαμένη θρεπτήρια πολλάκι πολλά.
Translation The fatherland set up this statue of Ioannes, who has the first seat in the Council, having often received from him many repayments for his rearing.
