Description of Monument

Six fragments from a white marble statue base shaft with panels within moulded edges on all sides (a 1.40 × 0.51 × 0.43).

Description of Text

Inscribed on the front panel; the last letter of l. 11 cut on moulding.

Description of Letters

Av. 0.04; irregular, elongated: Ε is both square and lunate; dot for stop.

Date

Late fifth century (prosopography).

Translation City of the Paphian goddess and of Pytheas: she, for her part, having exalted has given blessings appropriate to a goddess to the city while he in addition to constant works, unsparing of his wealth, has built as an offering.
