<p> <rs type="material" key="marmor">White marble</rs> <rs type="objectType" reg="statue base">statue base</rs> upper plinth, with moulding on three sides and roughed out, but not completed, on the back (<measure type="length" unit="metre" dim="width" precision="circa">0.36</measure> × <measure type="length" unit="metre" dim="height" precision="circa">1.20</measure>   × <measure type="length" unit="metre" dim="depth" precision="circa">1.03</measure>) There is a clamp hole on the underside for an  attachment; the top is not currently visible.    The plinth supported the statue of Aphrodite now in the Aphrodisias Museum.</p>

<p><rs type="execution" key="scalpro">Inscribed</rs> on the lower <term>fascia</term> (<measure dim="width" type="length" unit="metre">0.865</measure>   × <measure dim="height" type="length" unit="metre">0.085</measure>). The stone is complete except for chipping at the upper right corner and along edges; the text must have been completed on a lower feature.</p>

<p>A staue of the goddess must have stood above: the name of the donor/dedicator no doubt followed. It would obviously be likely that the main civic deity should be honoured in the Bouleuterion, but it is hardly less appropriate in an Odeon.</p>
