White marble panel/Votive relief, approximately square (0.155 × 0.14 × 0.06).

Description of Text

Inscribed on one face, in a rectangular area above a relief of two breasts.

Letters

ave 0.01; square sigma, omega; badly cut and poorly aligned.

Edition εὐεπηκόῳ Ἀσκληπίῳ Εὐγενία εὐχὴν ἀνέθηκεν
Translation

To Asklepios who listens well: Eugenia dedicated (in payment of) a vow

Commentary

One of a group of votive offerings dedicated to Asclepius: three reliefs, 5.112 (=63.568), 5.117 (=63.570), 15.240 (=70.551), and a base, 4.113 (=90.26); the three with provenance were found in or near the Baths of Hadrian.

The cult title is quite common, and implies that the prayer had been answered; it was probably for a child rather than for cure of trouble in the breasts.
