            <p>a. A <rs type="material" key="marmor">white marble</rs> <rs type="objectType">statue base</rs> capital, for a columnar base, and b. the <rs type="material" key="marmor">white marble</rs> columnar shaft of a statue base with simple moulding above and below (H. <measure type="length" unit="metre" dim="height">1.16</measure>; diam. <measure dim="diameter" type="length">0.53</measure>). The moulding is cut into on both sides, as is the shaft itself on one side, as if it had served as a support for a balustrade (or perhaps for re-use in the defence wall). The moulding is half smoothed, and half left rough. The statue also survives: see <bibl type="hbi" n="rrrs2001"><author>Smith</author> (<date value="1999" notBefore="1999" notAfter="1999" exact="both">2001</date>)</bibl>.</p>

Antonius Tatianos, <term lang="la">clarissimus praeses</term>, having built all the work of the tetrastoon that can be seen from the foundations, and all the surrounding decoration, for the metropolis, <supplied reason="subaudible">set up this statue</supplied> of Flavius Claudius Julianus <note place="not specified" anchored="yes">later emended to Theodosius</note>, the eternal and most pious Augustus.</p>
