<p>Fragments of <rs type="material" key="marmor">white marble</rs> <rs type="objectType">architrave</rs> blocks (<measure type="length" unit="metre" dim="width">1.63</measure>   × <measure type="length" unit="metre" dim="height">0.31</measure>   × <measure type="length" unit="metre" dim="depth">0.57</measure>-<measure type="length" unit="metre" dim="depth">0.69</measure> in depth) from the entablature of the north portico of the Sebasteion. Above is a decoration of <rs type="decoration">mutule</rs>s, spaced at intervals of  <measure dim="none" type="length" unit="metre" precision="circa">0.30</measure>.</p>

<div type="description" n="text"><head>Description of Text</head><p>The <rs type="execution" key="scalpro">inscription</rs> runs in one line on a single, unstepped, face. The face is drafted above, below and at the ends of each block; the upper drafting line rises to follow the line of the moulding between the mutules.  The inscription was cut when the blocks were in place, and letters run across joins.</p>

<p><supplied reason="lost">For Aphrodite, for the gods Augusti Olympians, for the People</supplied>: Eusebes <supplied reason="subaudible">entitled</supplied> lover of his country, and Menandros, the sons of Menandros the son of Eunikos and Apphias daughter of Menandros, <supplied reason="lost">wife of</supplied> Eusebes set <supplied reason="subaudible">this</supplied> up at their own expense. After it was thrown down and made useless by earthquakes, again at their own expense Apphias completed and set it up again, in company with Tata, her daughter, and Menandros and Eusebes her grandsons.</p>

Found: <rs type="found">Six architrave blocks were found in the <rs type="monuList">Sebasteion</rs>. These formed the left end of the inscription, and are succeeded by several empty blocks. 16 fragments of the preceding text were found, over a period of several years, re-used in the defence wall built in the first half of the 7th century across the east wall of the <rs type="monuList">Theatre</rs>.</rs>
