Description of Monument

Fragments from a white marble sarcophagus front, with a simple moulding above. Fragment a (lines 2-11) complete to right and below (0.75 × 0.55 × 0.14); b fragment from upper edge (lines 1-3) with moulding; c fragment (left end of ll. 5 ff.) with lower edge surviving; d. fragment, without edges, lines 3-7.

Edition ια τοῦ Παπίου εἰς ἣν σορὸν κεκήδευται Θεόδοτος ς αὐτὸς κ αὶ Ἀμμία Ἀριστείδου τοῦ Ζήνωνος οὐδεὶς δὲ ἕξει ἐξουσίαν ἀν οῖ ξαι τὴν σορὸν μετὰ τὸ ἐνταφῆναι οὐδὲ παραχώρησιν ἢ συ νχ ώρησιν ἢ οἰκονομίαν τινὰ περὶ τῆς γεγραμμενω ν τι ποιήσας ′δήποτε τρόπῳ ἔσται ἀσεβὴς καὶ ἐπάρατος καὶ τυμβωρύχος καὶ ἀποτείσει πρὸς τει μὰ ς τῶν Σεβαστῶν ἀργυρίου δηνάρια Ϛ ἐν δὲ τῇ εἰσωστῃ τῇ ὑπὸ τὴν σορὸν κηδευθήσεται Διο σαισ Αἰλια ν ὸς ὁ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ μου υἱός ἕτερος δὲ οὐδεὶς ἀπελευθεροι μου καὶ οἱ ἐξ αὐτῶν γενόμενοι περὶ ι οἰκονομίαν ποιῆσαι οὐδενὶ τρόπῳ ἐπεξαλλοτρίωσι ἐπὶ ὁ ποιήσας ἐσται ὑπευθυνος το ῖς ἐπάνω γεγραμμένοις προστείμοις ταύτης τῆς ἐπιγραφῆς τὸ ἀντίγραφον ἀπετέθη εἰς τὸ χρεοφυλάκιον ἐπὶ στεφανηφόρου Τιβερίου ρι ανου
