Description of Monument

Plain white marble statue base shaft (0.42 x 0.92 x 0.69) with face cut away, probably for reuse to lower left and covered in cement. Top prepared for an upper element.

Inscribed on the face.

Letters

Ave. 0.052; poorly aligned and uneven in height; trenches only slightly triangular; rho with a short oblique stroke from the bowl; very few serifed letters.

Second to first centuries B.C. (lettering).

Translation

Antipatros son of Artemidoros who was gymnasiarch
