Translation

Publius Aelius Hilarianos, eques romanus, son of Publius Aelius Apollonianos primipilarius, grandson of Publius Aelius Hilarianos consular, relative of many senatorials and consulars.

Publius Aelius Apollonianos, his father (set up the statue).

Commentary

This man was honoured, in identical terms, by his mother (12.535=LBW 595) and his father (here). For his career see B. Dobson, Recherches Structures Sociales 110 and n.2, and Eck, loc. cit.
