<p>Aphrodite from her own income prepared the statue bases and changed, set up and faced with marble the little gates with their <seg cert="low">lintels</seg>; the supervisors, <term lang="grc-Latn">neopoioi</term>, were Zenon the son of Zenon son of Menandros, Apollonios son of Peleus son of Peleus son of Peleus, Eugenetor the son of Attalos, Herakleides the son of <seg cert="low">Pittas</seg>, Pelopides the son of Eunous.</p>

<head>Commentary</head>
<p>The inscription seen by Fellows (60 and 61, p. 357) which Boeckh (<title level="m">CIG</title> II, 1109) related to this inscription was in fact that published as <xref type="inscription" n="1481" href="120803">12.803</xref> (=LBW 1611), column B.</p><p>The divisions in the list of names, all in the genitive, are far from clear; perhaps the first neopoios is Zenon Menandros son of Zenon, and the second Apollonios Peleus son of Apollonios son of Apollonios. We are grateful to Dr Fabienne Marchand, of LGPN, for the suggestion; but the name at the end of line 8 remains obscure.</p>
