Inscribed i. on the vertical projections, ii on the damaged lower edge, which is interrupted by the projections.

Translation

[ . . . ] of Zenon son of Zenon [ . . . of ?The]mison son of Zenon son of Adrastos, in which sarcophagus shall be buried the afore-mentioned Zenon and Aurelia Charition daughter of Kallikrates

Commentary

The text was clearly continued on the sarcophagus. It is probable that the edict of Caracalla occurred within the lifetime of these persons.
