Description of Monument

Marble panels in a threshold within the bath-building beside the extra-mural "Nymphaeum".

Description of Text

Incised on the top face; while a. may be complete on its stone, b. is certainly not, and must originally have extended onto flanking panels.

Description of Letters

Rough and uneven letters in an unprofessional hand, or pehaps several hands, probably quite late, 0.03-0.04; lunate Ε, Σ, and Ω except in the second hand of i, cursive Δ, and Μ in i, cursive Α in ii.

Date

Third century A.D. or later (nomenclature).

Commentary

Some of the names (such as Sabbatios) seem to be Jewish or Christian, but others are not necessarily so.
