Two adjoining pieces of a white marble sarcophagus base, partially adapted with a view to re-use (1.92 × 0.28 × 0.83).

Inscribed on the moulding, which was already faulty or damaged (the lettering in lines 2 and 3 dips into a chipped area).

Second to third centuries A.D. standard forms; ll.1, 2, ave. 0.025; l.3, 0.03. Diacritical points on either side of the second Υ in l.3; ΜΗ ligatured, l.3.

l. 3, The name is oddly expressed; but the same man is described in the same way in 12.526 (=MAMA 577): ἐπὶ στεφανηφόρου τὸ β Ἀττάλου υἱοῦ Μενάνδρου μῆνος δωδεκάτου.
