Description of Monument

Fragment from a white marble sarcophagus lid (0.69 long); the right end has been lost since Kubitschek recorded it.

Description of Text

On the front mouldings of the lid, interrupted by a projecting panel with ΣΙΝ (from ζῶσιν) in large letters. The text must have continued on the face of the sarcophagus.

i. [ . . . and the burial niches] belong to Marcus Aurelius Ioulianos son of Ioulianos son of Titus Aure[lius . . . ]the aforementioned Ioulianos and Aurelia Elpis daughter of Adrastos [ . . .] no one will have authority to bury anyone or exhume of those aforementioned, since he who acts contrary to this let him be impious and a grave-robber and

ii. They are alive.
