Description of Monument

Left side, with upper and lower edges surviving, of a rectangular white marble panel (0.27 × 0.265 × 0.03).

Inscribed on the face, which is polished, and has been prepared with a lightly-cut grid, within which the letters are cut, one letter in each square.

Description of Letters

Irregular but clear, av. 0.025; epsilon is both lunate (ll. 2, 3) and square (ll. 4, 5). Two dots for stop, 1.4.

Date

Fifth or sixth century (content, metre).

Edition ἔνθα Μακηδόνιος ετται βιοτο εύσας αρθλ ἀνθρώπων ἐμβολ ελεθω
